Many of us will experience slow performance, frequent crashes, blue screening or other issues with our Windows based PC systems from time to time. This is often down to damage, clutter or corruption caused in the registry. I asked a friend who knows a lot more than me about computers if he would have a look at manually fixing the registry for me but he said it was extremely complex and I would be safer running one of the many registry cleaners that are now available online for instant download so I had a good search around to see if I could find the best one to use.

However, by this stage my computer was running extremely slow, and I was about to throw it out the window.  I finally got my IT guy on the phone.  I asked him what to do.  He told me I probably needed a registry cleaner and I could download a free one he recommended.  The registry can get “gungked” up from time to time, and it can slow down your computer.  I told  the IT guy that this sounded like the problem and my friend had also recommended this solution, but I was reluctant to try one at first in case I caused further damage. He said he would send me something that would help the next day.  After I got everything all cleaned up my computer was running like it was brand new.  

Thank goodness that was all I needed to fix it as I really didn’t want to pay for one of the many commercially available registry cleaners that are available nowadays such as Reg Cure, Registry Mechanic, Error Doctor, Reg Sweep, Registry Easy or Registry Fix. I also certainly wouldn’t have wanted to risk causing any irrepairable damage to the registry by fiddling around with it myself so I’m so glad my friend could help me.
