Are you one of those people who get tired when standing in queue? Can’t stop multitasking no matter what you do? Maybe you
need to download some games for your cell phone. Java games are based on a very skinny programming language, and have surprisingly great functionality even on a limited tool like your cellphone.
Today’s cell phones are multifunctional organizational tools, you can use them to entertain yourself, and you can personalize
them as a fashion or personal style statement. But a lot of people just don’t give a hoot about anything but games.
What’s your personality in games? Action, puzzles, racing, sports? Do you like cerebral entertainment, or do you prefer
first-person shooters?
Action Games
Ghost Force, Alien Unleashed, Conflict Vietnam, Predator these are just a few of the action games you can pick up for your cell
phone. It’s not going to look as good as it does on your flat-screen games-enhanced system at home, but you’ll find that many of the functions you’re used to having are there, like AI and full missions. The best news: If you’re nostalgic for some of the original games, fully-functional java game versions may be available for you to download.
Online Play with Java Games
Prefer playing against real opponents? You can do that. With games like Badaz Poker and Blackjack, you have the option of
playing your cell phone java games online or offline, and you can even engage in tournament play and chat with your opponents.
Watch for more of this sort of game in the future.
Racing Games
Have you ever wanted to see if you could beat Lance Armstrong? Well, you can try it now from your own armchair. With games
like Tour de France and Extreme Motorbike, you can race around the track or the course while you’re standing still. Or you can try some Race2Kill and drive the way you’ve always wanted to drive in rush hour with guns, bottle rockets, and flamethrowers. Onscreen, at least, you can finally take out your fellow drivers while you’re showing them your exhaust. With cell phone java games, you can dream wherever you are, without actually hurting anyone.
Adventure Games
You prefer your games with a little princess, a little sword? Try some of the great adventure games available for your cell phone. With java games like The Black Citadel, the classic Baldur’s Gate, or Pirates, you’ll never be caught with empty time on your hands. In fact, you might find your hands itching to play your new java game instead of whatever you’re supposed to be doing.
Sports Games
With games like Dream Team Soccer or Smash and Ace (a tennis game), you can play your favorite sports while standing in
queue at the grocery or just whenever. If you want to be laid-back, consider Darts and Drinks; feeling a little violent, try Ko Kickboxing. Or you can try a little sports fishing, with Shark Hunt.
Future Trends
Java games on cell phones are a new trend. Watch for more games with more functions, especially online functionality, coming in the near future.

Cell phone manufacturers seem to think that everyone is 21 years old and wants to spend their time snapping pictures, writing text messages, listening to music, and watching videos or TV. My response to this is “hogwash!” There are millions of us “seniors” out here who not only don’t need these features, but would be hard pressed to figure out how to use them if we did (think about all those VCRs who sat there for years blinking 12:00 over and over).
I have a very cheap, plastic cell phone that I carry mostly for emergencies. It cost just $39.95. While it won’t take pictures, I think it will do text messaging. It also has an alarm clock, calendar, calculator, count-down timer, stop watch, voice navigation, a voice memo capability and goodness knows what else.
These features all sound great, except I don’t care because I don’t use any of them.
How about a cell phone with a few helpful features and a simple, easy-to-use menu?
What I would like is a simple, easy-to-use phone with a few nice features. For example, I like voice dialing. I just holler “call home” and my phone does the rest. I also think this is a much safer way to dial when driving around in traffic then pressing “Contacts,” and “Search,” scrolling down to find a contact name and then pressing “Dial.” This, of course, assumes I remember which buttons to push in what order – and good luck on that.
I don’t need glasses when driving but do have a problem with tiny type. So, hey, call phone manufacturers, how about a display with larger numbers and letters for us “vision challenged?
Now, you might say it’s okay to have all those features I never use because, hey, the phone cost only $39.95. The problem is that all those features mean more menus and more buttons. I don’t want more. It’s just too much. What I want is less. I want less options, less menus, less buttons, fewer choices and less stuff to have to remember. Is it too much to ask for less?
How about it cell phone manufacturers? How about a phone for those of us who just want to make phone calls? It doesn’t need to be a cheap phone. In fact, I would gladly pay $75 or more for a phone that’s simple, straightforward and doesn’t require more programming than my old VCR. You could even call it your “Senior Special.” I wouldn’t care. I do know I’m a senior.
For those of you out there who agree with me, take action today. Email your cell phone providers right this minute. Tell them that we don’t want more. We demand less!
Here’s something that is easy to use. It’s a new technology called HD Radio that enables AM and FM radio stations to broadcast their programs digitally. This is a tremendous technological leap from today’s familiar analog broadcasts. These digital broadcasts provide listeners with radically improved audio quality, more radio channels through multicasting, and new data services. To learn more about this amazing new technology, just go my Web site, http://www.hd-radio-home.com, to get all the buzz.

Phones have become a necessary part of life. If we are without one we feel like we are missing something. Phones have come a long way from the place they were only a few decades ago. Now, just about every family owns a cell phone. In some cases, we no longer have landline phones but just cell phones. Families stay connected with cell phone packages. There is more advertising for cell phones than there is for just about anything else! But, is the cell phone a better choice over the landline? Here are several things that you should consider not only about this but also about choosing the right company to go with.
Landline phones are those that are grounded. We plug them into outlets in our homes and offices. Cell phones are mobile, and have the ability to make calls from almost any area. Traditionally, landlines were the only type of phone used in the home. Now, more people are switching over to only have cell phones. But, is this a good thing? Cell phones are often more expensive. Mobility is expensive. But, landlines lock you down and do not give you the freedom to call from anywhere. Sure, cordless phones give some freedom, but you still have an approximate area you need to stay in. Cells have the ability to do virtually all that landlines do from making calls to three way calling to call waiting. They also have additional features. Things like email and internet access are among the hottest new features. Getting a text message is one of the largest draws right now. Landlines can’t compete with these features. But, one good quality about landlines is that they are there in an emergency. Your cell needs to be charged while a landline phone is able to make calls as long as the phone company hasn’t gone out.
We really didn’t help you make a decision, did we? Perhaps the only real factor in this battle is to have the prices broken down. First, let’s talk about getting a good deal on a cell phone though. Before purchasing one, make sure you have the best rate plan. You will need to break this into an apple to apple comparison. For example, either look at the flat rate plans or the minute to minute breakdown. Also, look at the weekend charges, roaming charging, and long distance charges as well. Then, you can make an informed decision.
In order to decide on the landline versus cell phone, you will need to compare your need for features and convenience with that of having a lower price. The landline will be cheaper but can not keep up with the latest and great technology. What matters to you is which option in phones you will need to choose from.
